The First Eve of Ignition
Lansing’s first EVE of Ignition was held the September 24th, 2009, the night before the Old Town Center in Lansing hosted Ignite Lansing – www.ignitelansing.com. Students and professionals mixed and mingled in Scene Metrospace as all waited for the contest to begin.
Hosted by Spotlight Campus (then Spotlight Michigan) and YSG Lansing , The EVE of Ignition gave 7 MSU innovators, selected from different student organizations on MSU’s campus, a chance to participate in an idea competition. After having undergone judging by 4 East Lansing area entrepreneurs, the winners have received access to Skunkworks – the ignition lab, where ideas and concepts turn into businesses. YSG Lansing also introduced The Hatch, a subsidized office space geared for student startups, and The Catalyst Mentorship Program. The winner also received other prizes donated by local businesses including free law work and computer software, courtesy of Clark Hill Law and Techsmith.
Adam Root (pictured below with Bunmi Akinyemiju, CEO of Enliven Solutions) won our first Eve of Ignition for his business, Spartanicity.
